Most "Delhi to Rishikesh road trip" guides still describe a 5-6 hour drive down NH58 through Meerut and Muzaffarnagar. Two real routes, not one

The Delhi-Dehradun Expressway is the faster option if you're driving yourself: get on the expressway out of Delhi, then exit at Ganeshpur to connect onto NH-58 for the final stretch into Rishikesh. It's the better choice if you value time over scenery and don't mind paying tolls.
